is talking about her new Grand Caravan for her one child and how she knows a family with 3 boys and they have a car. A car!!

She's really proud because the dealership told her "someone else was coming to look at it" so she rushed over and bought it.

My friend has one child and claimed his ford escape wasn't big enough he needed a Caravan too.

The Caravan is remarkable value for money, but it's just so boring. How's your recovery coming from the ladder incident?

Kinja'd!!!

This requires AT LEAST a Grand Caravan. It takes so much space.

I've got two kids and a dog. I think I need a bus.

I'm all healed up, out of the brace, snowblowing and shoveling. I'm not 100% where I was before but in the 90's for sure.

Minimum. That's the absolute minimum.

She's not a big dog so I figure I can get away with it. I wonder what she'd think about my boss who has 6 kids and a Suburban.

My department is big on big families. One dude has ten kids and a fifteen passenger van. One coworker is one of thirteen children and another is one of twelve

Maine. It's not common for people to have families that large. It's a strange coincidence to be sure.

If I ever, EVER, make a post stating that I'm even thinking about possibly considering a minivan, send help.

Lots of help.

There's nothing inherently wrong with getting a minivan. If we had another child we'd probably get one. Three kids and a dog would not fit in either or our vehicles.

Well, yeah, that would have its benefits for you.

Kids are not in my future plans, so minivans arent either.

I have two kids, two dogs and no van so I agree....however rear facing carseats take up a ton of space and are hard to get in smaller SUVs or sedans. In that sense babys need more room than older kids.

My parents had a Ford Taurus with six seats. Coincidentally they had four children, so it all worked out :) That worked for almost ten years.

Lets make a mutual agreement then! My wife feels similar hatred for minivans. Yes they may be practical, but they don't have a V-8, TT I-6, a stiff suspension, low center of gravity, and so on. So NOPE on all accounts.

We have 2 kids with plans for more, but we'd rather drive two cars everywhere instead.... Or maybe an X5 will be in our future with a 3rd row.

Wagon.

I seat 5, V8, RWD, on snow tires. BMW has the 3 series wagon, even have a 328d wagon. Older Benz wagons (and others) have the rear facing third row. You've got tons of cargo space, but theres also the roof racks for more storage, long or short term.

If the sliding door is your go-to reasoning, just park farther away. SUVs dont have sliding doors, and so many people want those pieces of garbage.

The Flex is cool, many wagons are still out there, minivans just dont have an excuse anymore.

The sister in law bought a 15 passenger van because, I quote, "you can't fit three car seats in an suv".

Forgot.... I think the 3 series wagon and the A4 wagon are way too small. Cant imagine how you'd fit a rear-facing car seat in that back row. My 535 fits perfect, so any smaller likely wouldn't work well.

I want the A6 Allroad to come back, or maybe the 5-Series Wagon.

How sick would an A8 Avant or 6-Series Wagon be?

Our 2nd is on the way. My wife told me yesterday that she likes minivans. I admit our 325iT isn't ideally sized for 2 kids or her 6' 6" dad, but I'm going to hold out as long as I can.

My wife would totally have a minivan if left up to her own devices. I'm hoping this Kia Soul holds up until our daughter goes off to college.
